There is no exact English translation for yuanfen.
It sits somewhere between fate, timing, coincidence and connection. It is the Chinese idea that some encounters feel like more than chance, as if two people, somehow, were meant to cross paths.
But yuanfen has always contained uncertainty.
You may believe it exists, but you can never know who, when, where, or how.
And perhaps that is why the idea still matters.
We live in a world with more choices than ever. Technology can measure more about us, predict more for us, and introduce us to almost anyone.
Yet somehow, people seem to find it harder and harder to truly meet.
At Fatedly, we started with a simple question:
What if we used modern tools, together with old ways of understanding people, to search for something as uncertain as yuanfen?
Not to predict who you will love.
Just to give yuanfen a better chance to happen.
